Devon has lost 90% of its Traditional Orchards since the second world war; ousted by new developments, grubbed up, and faded with neglect. It’s a loss of a quintessential part of our British landscape. A loss of precious habitats rich in nationally rare and scarce species. And it’s a loss of rare and intriguing apple varieties, capable of producing the world’s finest cider. What we find, we foster in a low intensity way. This means there's no chemicals, no pesticides, herbicides or inorganic fertiliser. We manage the orchards sensitively for both fruit and wildlife.
